She credits Efroymson for iMOCA's operating model in which guest curators oversee exhibits. "The art world in New York is very different than the art world in Los Angeles," Marsh said. "If we can bring in a curator from L.A. or from New York, we're able to provide the most varied shows possible." The museum strives to present two national shows, two regional shows and two local shows per year. By programming six to eight months in advance -- in contrast to longer cycles at the Indianapolis Museum of Art -- it's easier for iMOCA to showcase rising talent, Marsh said.
