MASSACHUSETTS - Art, antiques and library items from the estate of the late Rev. Peter J. Gomes, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister of the Memorial Church at Harvard University, will go up for auction later this month [March 24], Dedham-based Grogan and Company Fine Art Auctioneers and Appraisers said today. Described as one of the most distinguished Christian preachers in history, Rev. Gomes, who died last year, was the recipient of 39 honorary degrees, participated in the presidential inaugurations of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, and authored several books, including the bestselling “The Good Book: Reading the Bible with Mind and Heart” (1996) and “The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus: What’s so Good about the Good News?” (2007).[link]
