REDLANDS DAILY FACTS
CALIFORNIA - Redlands artist Terry Long will hold a solo art show at Peppers Gallery at the University of Redlands, Wednesday. "Ever since graduating from art college in the late `60s, I have been involved in art, advertising and publishing," said Long. "I am both artist and photographer," he said. Long will feature "Mandalas of Light," which are art pieces created by painting with light and recording the motion on camera. "Buddhists and American Indians use mandalas, which are spiritual," said Long. Buddhists' spiritual mandalas are three dimensional and made of colored sand. "After the need for the Mandalas is obtained, the ritual is for the sand to be swept up and given back to the earth, it is a Buddhist ritual." The "Mandalas of Light" bring together Long's drawings and photographic skills. [link]
